He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Potter and Irene Potter (Collins); and his siblings, William, Cecil Potter and Natalie Schubert.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Potter; his children, Douglas Potter (Vickie) of Highland and Sherry Hunt (Richard) of Linden; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Kopczyk (Gene) of Metamora and Tom Danner (Suzanne) of Linden. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
