He was predeceased by: his stepson Tyler Metzelburg; and his uncle John "Dan" Crouch. He is survived by: his parents, Thomas C VanHaitsma and Deborah K. VanHaitsma (VanHaitsma) of Linden; his daughter Madison Metzelburg (Jason) of Holly; his grandchildren, Payton Ashley, Bennett Ashley, Caroline Ashley of Holly, Ensley Metzelburg of Grand Blanc and Leland Metzelburg of Grand Blanc; his stepdaughter Jessica Pettis of Ohio; his siblings, Tammy Taylor (Chris) of Holly, Chris, Matt and Emerson; and his aunts, Catherine Quilliam (Dave) of McBain and Shirley Graham (Chuck) of Interlochen.
