He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Emery Smith and Florena Smith (Harris); his wife Carol Sue Smith (Kirkindall); and his sisters, Nancy Sexton, Margorie Okerblom and Beatrice Weil.
He is survived by: his children, Robin Mason (Hugh), Kimberly Kanarr (Glen) and Walter Lee Jr. Smith (Michelle); his grandchildren, Blaize Mason (Candace), Shanaleigh Koopman (Aaron), Brayah Mason, Jordan Kanarr (Anna), Taylor Oliver (Michael), Eden Siebert (Carl), Brianna Gould (Ben), Kylee, Lexi, Jayden, Madelyn, Eva and Mason; and his great grandchildren, Emma, Fitzgerald, Brighton Lily, Koah Gray, Adyson, Claire, Aleya, Judah, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Eliam, Fletcher and Cooper.
