He was predeceased by: his parents, Thurlow Cole and Henrietta Cole; his wife Dorothy Cole; his children, Donald Allen, Beth Ann and Darrell; and his daughter-in-law Katherine Cole (Kenneth).
He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Sue Cole, Kenneth, Kevin (Candy) and Bradley Cole (Lucy); his grandchildren, Kelly Hall (Dan), Angela Brown, Keegan Cole (Lesley), Nathan Franklin (Melissa), Tyler Cole (Margie), Austin Cole, Alex Cole (Emily), Karina Sharboneau (John) and Kendra Cole; and his sister Jean Wolffis of Muskegon. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
