He was predeceased by: his wife Jeanne Marie Lingvai; and his sisters, Maryann Lasko and Annette Peters. He is survived by: his sister Josie Roberts; his children, Jennifer M. Eckard (Douglas E.) and John Jr. Lingvai (Jennifer M.); his stepson Brian Palmer; and his grandchildren, Julianna Eckard, Christopher Eckard and Kara Lingvai. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews from extended family.
