He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter M. Knapp and Florence Knapp (Furnier); his granddaughters, Christina Knapp and Lisa Knapp; and his sister-in-law Judy Knapp.

He is survived by: his mother-in-law Catherine E. Poma; his wife Catherine E. Knapp; his children, Walter M. Knapp (Carol), Bill Knapp (Jutta), Tina Kasper (Louis), Cathy Morrison (Jimmy), John Knapp (Karen) and Marianne Heffner (Joe); his grandchildren, Michael Knapp (Mellisa), William Knapp (Ashely), Kyle Kasper, Kevin Kasper, Louie Kasper, Kelsey Knapp, Evan Knapp, Bobby Morrison, Joey Morrison, Jake Heffner (Ashley), Steve Heffner (Dianne) and Jack Heffner; his great grandchildren, Jacob Knapp, Cloie Scott, Avery Knapp, Evelyn Heffner, Baby Boy Heffner and Baby Boy Knapp; his brother Thomas Knapp; and his nephews, Thomas Knapp, Timothy Knapp and Jason Knapp.
