He was predeceased by: his parents, Julia Novak, Sr. (Olsick) and John Sr. Novak; his brothers, Anthony Novak and Joseph Novak; and his parents-in-law, Loren and Edna Bissonnette.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Novak; his children, Wendy Upthegrove (David) and John Novak III (Laurie); his grandchildren, Riley Upthegrove, Dylan Upthegrove (Alyssa), Brendan Upthegrove (Eliza), Bobby Macciomei and Ashlee Thompson (Jason); his great grandchildren, Casey Thompson and Levi Upthegrove; his siblings-in-law, Dennis Bissonnette, Thomas Bissonnette, Karen Stohon and Donald Bissonnette; his cousin Jimmy Olsick; and his close friend Don Niles. He is also survived by other loving family members and good friends.
