He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Gilliland and Georgia Gilliland; his sister Jane Starr; his brother-in-law Howard Starr; and his great grandchild Vieralynn Marie Figueroa.
He is survived by: his wife Anna; his sons, George L. Gilliland Jr. (Jodi) and Greg Gilliland (Lauretta); his grandchildren, Leeann Gilliland (John Sithamat), Andrew Gilliland (Shannon), Morgan Gilliland, Luke Gilliland, Carla Thomas, Lauren James-Gilliland and Rachel Gilliland; and his great grandchildren, Aaron, Noah and Olivia Sithamat. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
