He was predeceased by: his parents, George H. Banks and Icie Banks (Craft). He is survived by: his wife Twila "Marilyn" Robinson; and his children, Gene Banks, Jr. (Nancy) of San Diego, CA, Linda Douglas (Jeff) of Mason, George Banks (Nancy) of Holt, Jerry Banks (Bambi) of Pleasant Lake, Diane Waitz of Leslie and Sandy Minix (Dean) of Dansville. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
