He was predeceased by: his father William Russell; and his brothers, Roland Stapleton, William Leach and Jack Leach (Eunice Kirby). He is survived by: his wife June A. Leach; his sons, John "Jack" Russell Jr. and Jeff Russell (Shella); his grandsons, Jacob Russell and Alex Russell; his sister Lynn Cote (Dick); and his sister-in-law Elda Wittman (Lynn). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
