It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Violet J. Spence (Lawton, Michigan), born in Knoxville, Tennessee, who passed away on February 23, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John R. Gentry and Mary O. Gentry (Crowe); her husband John W. Spence; her daughter Sandra; and her siblings, Althea Gentry, Robert "Sonny" Gentry and Ronald Gentry.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Ellen Houts (Steve) of Three Rivers, Bob Spence (Kathy) of Mendon, Norma Dahl (Jay) of Mendon and Jimmy Spence (Diane) of Three Rivers; her grandchildren, Christopher Houts, Chad Spence (Kelly), Angie Crotser, Cory Munn (Cindy), Kandi Torres (Troy), Travis Munn (Cassidy), Karlie Clark (TJ) and Kendra Duell (Lane); and her siblings, Bessie Jones of South Bend, Mary Patterson of Lansing, Sharon Rial (Sam) of Colon, Doug Gentry (Pat) of Battle Creek and Terry Gentry of Kalamazoo. She is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren.
It is suggested that memorials be directed to either Grace Hospice, or the Alzheimer's Association.
