She was predeceased by: her husband Frank Richard "Rick" Schultz. She is survived by: her mother Barbara Patrick of Decatur; her children, Anna Babbitt, Christopher Schultz and Frank Schultz; her grandchildren, Kollin Schultz, Airianna White, Christopher Schultz, Johnathon Schultz, Zachary Schultz, Nicholas Schultz, Landyn Schultz and Jade Schultz; and her siblings, Angela Patrick (Gerald Kizer) of Lansing and Shaun Patrick of Elkhart. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
The family prefers contributions in memory of Melissa be made to Kzoo Cat Café and Rescue, 1128 West Michigan Avenue, #1, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49006.
