He was predeceased by: his parents, Karlis Mezsets and Olga Mezsets (Lasis); his wife Ruta; and his sister Spidola Kajaks. He is survived by: his children, Eriks Mezsets (Kris) and Norma Stevens (Daryl); his grandchildren, Mara Asher (Dan), Justin Mezsets (Keeley) and Aleksandra Young (Derrick); and his great grandchildren, Landon James Asher and Easton Karlis Asher.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in honor of Aldonis to the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran United Church of Kalamazoo or to Kalamazoo County Animal Services.
