She was predeceased by: her parents, William Johnson and Elizabeth Johnson (Ilveswiitta); her husband Douglas Makela; her children, Cheryl Zipp and Douglas Makela Jr.; her daughter-in-law Mary Lou; and her siblings, Irene, Elsie, Ellen and Bernard.
She is survived by: her son Robert of Lake Linden; her granddaughter Cheryl; and her son Stacey Makela (Wendy) of Laurium. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
