He was predeceased by: his father Ralph Hakala. He is survived by: his mother Joyce Hakala (Moilanen) of Lake Linden; his daughters, Courtney Sapinsky (Joseph) of Battle Creek, MI, Alyssa Hakala of Dollar Bay and Kayla Hakala of South Range; his grandchildren, Gemma and Eli; his siblings, Sheryl Ala of Lake Linden, Melanie Rossi of Dollar Bay, Lisa Churchfield of Columbia Heights, MN and Keith Hakala (Amy) of Lake Linden; and his close friend Carol Hall of Laurium. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
