He is survived by: his wife Lanie Hanson; his children, Jeffrey Hanson (Leisa) of Oxford, Scott Hanson of Lapeer and Jennifer Hanson of Grand Blanc; his grandchildren, Ashley VanBrunt (Nick), Patric Hanson (Maddie), Collin Hanson (Serena), Mason Cebula (Makayla), Samantha Hanson, Gracelyn and Jacob; and his sister Marilyn Nelson.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are encouraged to Lapeer County Animal Shelter or Paradise Animal Rescue in Lapeer.
