He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxwell Salmond and Wilma Salmond; his wife Connie Salmond (Rivett); his grandson Kaden Ryan; and his brother Rodger.

He is survived by: his sons, Steve Salmond (Tavana) of Lapeer, James Ryan (Aaron) of St. Petersburg, FL and Timothy Ryan (Meg Barton) of Pontiac; his grandchildren, Kohle Salmond, Kayliana Salmond, Lillian Barton, Jackson Salmond and Lucille Salmond; and his siblings, Sam McCue (Regis), Danny Swain (Patricia), Barb Dehring (John) and David Swain (Lori).
