With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Thomas John Rapley (Lapeer, Michigan), born in Capac, Michigan, who passed away on November 2, 2024 at the age of 88. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Thomas John Rapley to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Rapley and Marion Rapley (MacNaughton); and his former wife Darlene Rapley. He is survived by: his wife Ree Ellen Arn-Rapley; his children, Carrie Rapley (Tony DeSanto) of Surfside Beach, SC, Lyle Rapley (Joy) of Highland and Ellen Reed (Tom) of Grand Blanc; his stepdaughter Tereesa Arn of Cadillac; his grandchildren, Shaun (Laura), Jason (Dana), Melyssa (Jeremy), Erica (Erik), Jerry (Crystal), Joe (Annalisa), Jamie (Joe), Derek, Brandon (Kelsey) and Michaela; his siblings, Bob Rapley (Cheryl) of Marysville, Beth Manns (Marv) of Yale and June Ryan of Marysville; and his sisters-in-law, Rosie Kipp of Yale, Joanne Muxlow of Brown City and Sandra Kile (Larry) of Aylett, VA.. He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Methodist Church (1310 N Main St, Lapeer, MI 48446). A committal service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Stiles Cemetery (1900 N Saginaw St, Lapeer, MI 48446).
Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Methodist Church - Scholarship Fund, American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
