He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Trotter and Edna Trotter (Lacy); and his brother Fred Trotter. He is survived by: his children, Jessica Trotter, Joseph Trotter (Susan) and Linda Brohman (Tyson); his grandchildren, Carsten Brohman, Scarlett, Lincoln and Cash Verburg; his nephew John Trotter; and his nieces, Peggy Trotter and Kyong Ok Julian.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
