We bid farewell to Mildred Joyce Hawkins of Lapeer, Michigan, born in Honor, Michigan, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 10, 2024 at the age of 91. Mildred Joyce touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Glenn Gustave and Abigail "Elizabeth" Starkey (Ferrin); her husband James "Jim" Hawkins; her children, Cherri Wilson and Donald Hawkins; her granddaughter Joy Wilson; her sisters, Virginia Cooper and Barb Starkey; and her brother-in-law Ken Rose.
She is survived by: her children, Yvonne Kalbfleisch (Ed) of Brown City, Jim Hawkins (Dawn) of Michigan, Ray Hawkins (LaVonya) of Alabama and Susan Kirback (Jon) of Lapeer; her daughter-in-law Deborah Hawkins of Delaware; and her siblings, Lori Rose of North Branch, Robert Starkey (Kathy) of Delaware and Lois Forrester (Nate) of Traverse City. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home (1021 S Lapeer Rd, Lapeer, MI 48446). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family has requested no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
