He was predeceased by: his father Donald Harper; his siblings, Dolores Richardson, Robert Grant, Sandra Schweizer and Donald E. Harper, II; and his mother Melba Mrozinski (Woolever).
He is survived by: his wife Amy L. Mitchell; his children, Nicholas Harper (Izzy), Tiffany Lindsey (Virgil) and Michael Harper, II (Grace); his siblings, Paul Grant, Karen Carter, Sherry Benton and Donny Harper; and his brothers-in-law, Charles Mitchell and John Mitchell. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, he took in six other kids.
