Jerry Volek Obituary

We are sad to announce that on May 3, 2021, at the age of 87, Jerry Volek of Lapeer, Michigan, born in Owosso, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Volek and Anna Volek (Kosley); his sister Betty Fairchild of Owosso; his sister-in-law Mary Jane Tun Shein (Tun Shein) of Myanmar; his nieces, Karen Rhiness and Lynn Fairchild; and his nephew Mark Volek.

He is survived by: his wife Nina Rhiness; his sons, Jim Volek (Shelly) of Troy and Jeff Volek (Ana) of Dublin, OH; his grandchildren, Marissa, Jake, Preston, Reese and Gannon; his brother Robert Volek (Sheila) of Corunna; his aunt Doris Kosley of Marco Island, FL; and his brothers-in-law, George Rhiness of Haslett and Glen Fairchild of Owosso. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Considering Covid-19 guidelines a private family service with military honors will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.

Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1310 N. Main St. Lapeer, MI. 48446.
