He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Hayward and Olive "Polly" Hayward (Isles); his children, Jamie Darlene Suuppi and Vernon Jeffrey Hayward; and his siblings, Ethel Parker, Ruth Bailey and Bernard Hayward.
He is survived by: his wife Verda Doris Chappel; his sons, David Hayward (Lori) of Lapeer and Mark Hayward (Kim) of Lapeer; his children-in-law, Gene Suuppi of Mayville and Deborah Hayward of Oregon; his grandchildren, Brooke Durbin (Christian) of Montrose, Justin Hayward (Amy) of Lapeer and Brittany Giron (Wilfredo) of Florida; his great grandchildren, Iris and Ethan Durbin; and his brother Ron Hayward of Arizona. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
