He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Powell and Vera Powell (Haskin); his son Gerald "Chum" Powell; and his siblings, Irwin, Earl, Churchill, Otis Jr., Bill, Dick, Virginia Cook, Ileatha Crotteau, Betty Brauer and Rose Middleton.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Powell; his children, Loretta Ramseyer (Doug) of Lapeer, Craig Powell (Rhonda) of Fostoria, Deanna Hansen (Ken) of Crystal and Jeff Powell of Lapeer; his grandchildren, Doug Powell, Adam Kuhn (Mallory), Jeffrey Powell, Mindi Shinabarger, Mason Litwiller (Morgan), Lisa Jansen (Matt), Michael Ramseyer (Hilary), Jake Hansen and Coleman Hansen; his great grandchildren, Javen, Lily, Bently, Charlie, Layla, Sophia, Grayson, Brett, Jessica, Rayelynn and Lucan; and his sister Sue Geoit of Ohio. He is also survived by many many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions are encouraged to American Legion Post #16 Honor Guard or McLaren Hospice.
