He was predeceased by: his parents, George Dorner and Susan Dorner (Kennedy); and his wife Imogene B. Kage. He is survived by: his children, Timothy Dorner of Lapeer, Karen Nestle of Ellicott City, MD and Thomas Dorner (Martha) of Redford; his granddaughter Holly Burr (Ryan) of Ellicott City; his great grandchild Jackson Burr; and his siblings, Letha Campbell and Clifford Dorner.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lapeer.
