He was predeceased by: his wife Frances Rea Yates; his parents, Ruth Yates and Olen Yates; his siblings, Gerald Yates, Larry Yates, Bill Yates and Beverly Chisnel (Yates); and his son-in-law Daniel Matthews.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Matthews, Susan Kluck (Lawrence), Michael Yates (Jutta) and Kathryn Bolton; his grandchildren, Sean Matthews, David Matthews (Rebecca), Lynsey Ridley (Ben), Taylor Matthews, Nicole Yates, James Yates, Aaron Kluck (Alea), Andrew Kluck (Alicia), Anna Wells (Jeffery) and Alec Kluck (Emily); his great grandchildren, Brandon English, Ethan English, Tayte Ridley, Jasper Ridley, Killian Ridley, Logan Matthews, Meah Matthews, Lily Mathews, Amelia Matthews, Addelyn Kluck, Ari Kluck, Adrian Kluck, Eden Kluck and Calvary Kluck; and his siblings, Gordon Yates and Nancy Yates.
