Walter was predeceased by his parents, Walter Allen Franks and Alice Josephine (Withey) DuBois.
He is survived by: his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Beatrice (neé Korkoski) Franks; his daughter Paulette (Kelly) Arnett; his granddaughterJessica (Benjamin) Beckett; his great granddaughter Katelyn Beckett; his step-mother Betty Franks-Dudzinski; his sisters, Carol (Robert) Sims, Penny Beech, Barbara (Merle) Wolff, Gloria (Tad) Dempsey, and Laurie Fanning. Other special surviving relatives are: son Allen (Kathy) Franks and family (grandchildren Riley, Zachary, and Mary Ann Franks; great-grandchildren Walter and Alice Franks); adopted brothers Kirk (Dawn) Franks and Michael (Seiko) Franks; aunts Della Messer, Yvonne Franks, and Mary Ellen Withey; several nieces, nephews, and life long friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
