He was predeceased by: his father Wiley McKinney; and his grandmother Ruby Kendricks. He is survived by: his mother Ruby Mitchell; his sons, Virgil, Jr., Cornelius and Christopher; his grandchildren, Chloe, Vinnae, Kelise, Carter and Cruz; his siblings, Kenzetta, Maria, Linda, Vanessa, Nikki, Connie, Kenneth, Clyde and Victor; his uncles, Harry (Mahalia) and George (Kathy); and his close friend Jan Middlebrook. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
