He was predeceased by: his father Donald E. Pierson; and his sister Tricia. He is survived by: his mother Patricia Pierson (Raymond); his stepfather Bernard Palmer; and his sister Tammy Gibbons of Wood Village, OR..

In lieu of flowers, the family asks friends and family to make a memorial donation in Troy's name to the Capital Area Humane Society.
