Ruben A. Rosalin Sr. Obituary
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Ruben's life will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, c/o the funeral home.
Passed away at his home on Monday, July 15, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Dagupan City, Philippines on March 2, 1938, the son of the late Rafael and Nenita (Adaban) Rosalin. He enjoyed being outdoors and he developed a love for geology. He earned a bachelor's degree in Minning Engineering and was employed as a supervisor in the copper and silver mines of Philippine. On March 11, 1968, he married the love of his life Leticia Del-Rosario. They traveled together to America in 1971, and Ruben began working for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources as a geologist. They lived in Lansing and began to raise a family. In 2001, Ruben retired, and they moved to Texas then returned to Michigan. Ruben was kind, loving and dedicated. He worked hard to provide happiness and opportunities for his family. He was especially proud of his children and grandchildren and leaves behind many wonderful memories to be cherished. Ruben loved collecting rocks, being near the ocean and taking walks on the beach. He loved going to movie theaters to catch a show, playing tennis, basketball, golf and watching sports. He and Leticia enjoyed traveling and went to many places in life. He was a member of the Philippine-American Club of Lansing and a member of the Philippine-American Dance Troop. Ruben's heart and home were always open and he loved family gatherings. He had a strong faith and was a member of the Catholic Church. Ruben's laughter and smile will be missed by all who know him. He is survived by his children, Ralph (Paxa) Rosalin, Ruben (Liz) Rosalin Jr., Nathan Rosalin; grandchildren, Ryan, Ava, Gabriella, Maddox, Riley, Piper, Peyton, Mason, Reagan Rosalin; brother, Mario (Linda) Rosalin; sister, Nora (Willie) Barretto; sister-in-law, Ming Rosalin; nephew, Ramil (Mae) Rosalin; extended family and friends. He was also preceded in passing by a brother, Rafael "Jun" Rosalin.
