He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Marjorie (Ackerman); his son Richard; his granddaughters, Susan Kay Drake and Karen Heyden; and his parents, Caroline Thrun and Fred Thrun.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Capital Area Humane Society, Lansing, Michigan.
