He was predeceased by: his father Roy Lamond; his siblings, Donald and Jean Shinevar; and his granddaughter Rachel Worthington. He is survived by: his wife Vivian Higgins; his children, Mary Worthington (John), Mark Lamond, Michael Lamond (Hyun Sook), Susan MacKeller and James Lamond; and his sister Nancy Fluhr of Springfield, Virginia. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Michigan.
