He is survived by: his children, Marie "Toni" Woods, Angela "Minnie" Woods, Angeletta "Fats" Woods, Evangeline McClinton, Gesela Renee Woods, Richard Woods Jr. (Anika) and Idris Woods (Sonia); his brother Mohammad Wayne Woods (Linda); his stepbrother Ernest Scott (Barbara); and his siblings-in-law, Marvel Verser (Sally), Wyvonne Verser (Anne), Perry Verser, Tim Verser, Jean Woods and Icy Verser. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
