With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rex E. Sessions of Lansing, Michigan, who passed away on January 13, 2023 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Lisle Sessions; his daughter Julia Sessions Austin; his brothers, John Harold Jr. and Russell Sessions; and his parents, John Harold and Madeline Sessions (Bayshore).

He is survived by: his daughter Elizabeth "Lisa" Sessions Lang (David) of Kansas City; his grandchildren, Cortney Mendenhall (Zach), Lindsey Fleschner (Frank), Andrew Lang (Katherine), Isabel Sessions, Zachary Sessions, Patrick Austin and Jordan Brushfield (Tom); and his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Alice Mendenhall, James, Grace and Brooks Brushfield. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, gifts can be directed to support the Talons Out Honor Flight (https://www.talonsouthonorflight.org) for U.S. veterans.

“In 2008, I wrote a book celebrating the 100th anniversary of the CC of Lansing. Both Betsy and Rex were so helpful in my efforts recounting many memories. While I had known them for most of my life, during this time I really came to appreciate how wonderful they both were. Rex was a kind man who we all will miss. Unfortunately Patti and I will not be able to attend the memorial service. Please know our thoughts are with the family. Patti and Charley Guyselman”
