He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmy Lewis and Olive Lewis; his wife Alma Lewis; his children, Pamela Lewis-Hill, Melvin Lewis, David Lewis and Dennis Lewis; his grandson Jimmy Lewis Jr.; his great grandchild Valencia Motley; his siblings, Jim "Paul" Lewis, Marguerite Joseph, Charlene Simon and Elaine Brasher; and his close friend Dorothy Nichols.
He is survived by: his children, Valdeen Lewis, Philicia Lewis, Marcus Lewis (Cassandra) and Jimmy Lewis (Rochelle); and his siblings, Allen Lewis, Genevieve Johnson and Jeannette Broussard.
