It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maureen Anne Buda of Lansing, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on November 30, 2024, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Ted; her children, Susan Dugener (Matthew), Julie Rule (Jeffrey) and Michael Buda; and her grandchildren, Nathan, Jared, Adam Dugener, Lauren, Caleb, Joshua, Ethan Rule, Devan, Sydney and Ella Buda. She was also cherished by 11 children, with 5 sisters and 5 brothers and helped her parents raise their family.

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Gerard Catholic Church (4437 W Willow Hwy, Lansing, MI 48917).

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Gerard Church and Tri-County Office on Aging (Meals on Wheels), in memory of Maureen will be gratefully received.

“I worked with Maureen for several years. She was one of the most special people at Lansing Catholic. She brought cookies to brighten our days. I still make her recipe. We shared an Irish connection and the shamrock plaque she gave me still hangs outside my home, I worked with hundreds of people through my career but Maureen stands out as one of the shining stars She made our world a better place due to her beautiful soul. I am sorry I am Out of Michigan so can not attend the mass.”
