She was predeceased by: her father Arthur Markel; her husband Dallas C. Hargett; her daughter Julie Gest (Hargett); her stepdaughter Kay Sherman (Hargett); her brother Mike Markel; and her friends, Irene Pigeon and Pat Moles.
She is survived by: her stepson Larry Hargett; her granddaughters, Kate Kessler (Danielle) of Austin and Megan Kessler Wishard of Austin; and her sister Eleanor Suboski (Hargett).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
