He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Lucas and Hattie Lucas (Berry); his grandson Chris Knight Jr.; and his siblings, Ed Lucas (Donelda) and Barb Husted.

He is survived by: his wife Sue Lucas; his children, Karie Richardson (Chris), William Lucas (Carrie) and Robert Lucas; his grandchildren, Vanessa Lowry (Tony) of Vincent LaRay, Hall, Ryder Lucas (Amanda), Kaylah Lucas, Adriana Lucas, Jacob Lucas (Maranda) and Andrew Graham; his great grandchildren, Janay Smith, Joelle Smith, Jalisa Smith, Janessa Smith, Jayla Smith, James William De Vore, Athena Ross, Nolan Lucas and Emersyn Lucas; and his brother Dale Lucas (Joan). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
