He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Aikens; his son Lawrence Burton Jr. (Lori); his grandchildren, Layla Burton, Tre Burton and Kenny Brewer; his brother Malik Yakini; his niece Taifa Yakini; his nephews, Andwele Yakini and Ajamu Yakini; and his close friend Virgil Brown.
