She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Schafer and Mary Schafer (Fernholz); her husband Gordon William Essenberg; and her siblings, Bernard Schafer (Margaret), Arthur Schafer (Josephine), Gaylord Schafer (Grace), Charles Schafer (Hazel), Eugene Schafer (Patricia), Joseph Schafer, Dennis Schafer (Helen), Catherine Schafer, Irene Fisher (Barney), Adelene Schafer, Laurabelle Divish (Joseph), Alice Burdette (Theodore) and Mary Lou Hagerman (Charles).
She is survived by: her son Joseph Essenberg; her grandsons, Joseph Essenberg (Rebecca) and Gerrad Essenberg (Rebecca Stevens); and her great grandchild Brynlee. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
