It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph M. Potvin (Lansing, Michigan), born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on December 5, 2021, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He served as the volunteer President for the Catholic Education Foundation in the Lansing Area for 10 years and on the St. Gerard Parish Council and Finance Committee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Gerard School, Lansing Catholic High School, or the VFW Post 6132.

“I met Joe in 1975 when I was a young 19 year old fresh from basic training starting my job with the 38th Aviation Battallion. He was one of the first pilots I met that first day and the most memorable. He was, as I would come to know, funny and gregarious as he welcomed me with his humor and giant smile. He was Don’s roommate when we eloped and the first person we told, (he loved telling that story). We loved Joe and will miss his presence in our lives! Louise Pond”
