He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Ivory and Fredonia Thomas (Kline); his stepfather William Thomas; his grandparents, Lucy Kline (Wesley) and Joe Kline; his uncle Charlie Kline; and his aunts, Sarah Moore and Mary Kline.

He is survived by: his children, Alfrida Johnson, Kenneth Sims and Katherine Kline; his stepson Kevin Sims (Chiara); his son Ronnie Johnson; and his grandchildren, Darion Sims, Jada Sims and Essence Johnson.
