He was predeceased by: his parents, Berneth Odell and Helen Odell (Abernathy); his former wife Edith Ricker; and his son Randy. He is survived by: his children, Rick and Ren; his wife Tok Cha (Kim); his stepdaughters, Mary Locher (Mark) and Sarah Hawes (Rich); and his grandchildren, Kate Locher, David Locher, Vincent Hawes and Dominick Hawes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church.
