He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Oatley and Jennie Oatley (Farnam); his wife Helen Katrine Oatley; his sons, John Oatley, Jr. and Dean Oatley; his grandchildren, Diana Cuatt, Shannon Sharp and Dean A. Oatley; his daughter-in-law Linda Oatley; and his siblings, Betty Shattuck, Dixie Buehrer, Dorothy Round and Ted Oatley.
He is survived by: his children, David Oatley of Mason, Brenda Cuatt (Tom) of Springport, Brian Oatley (Karen) of Eaton Rapids, Sonja Oatley of Eaton Rapids and Carleen Oatley of Alabama; and his sister-in-law Jeanette Oatley of Texas. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Lansing, Michigan.
