It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Edmond of Lansing, Michigan, born in Canton, Mississippi, who passed away on December 30, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edmond and Ruby Edmond; his grandparents, Walter (Big Daddy) and Mary Love (Big Momma); his sisters, Doris Edmond-Jackson, Lena Edmond and Bernice Edmond; and his granddaughter Amaia Edmond.
He is survived by: his wife Vernetta Sturdivant; his sons, Darnell of Lansing Michigan, James of Lansing Michigan and John (Sonya) of Lansing Michigan; his grandchildren, Eboni, Myles, Julian, Symone and Syleana; his siblings, Walter Love (Dorothy) of Canton, MS, Beatrice Hoskins of East Lansing, MI and Katie Daniels of Canton, MS; his sisters-in-law, Irene Cutliff (Herfner) of Oklahoma City, OK, Barbara Sturdivant James of Austin, TX, Bernice Sturdivant of Grand Blanc, MI, Marie Sturdivant Campbell of Lansing, MI and Irene Sturdivant of East Lansing, MI; and also, Ronald and Bettie Williams. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
