He was predeceased by: his sister Mary Ann Jones; and his niece Isabella "Bella" Maryann (O. B.). He is survived by: his parents, John Akley Sr. and Harveline Akley (Banks); his sister Patti Akley of Lansing; and his nephews, Justin, Ryan and Jacob Akley.
