He was predeceased by: his wife Frances; his parents, Charles Didsbury and Alice Didsbury; his brother James Didsbury; and his daughter Edith Smith.
He is survived by: his stepsons, Mark Newman of Portland, Matthew Newman (Janice) of Crystal, Luke Newman (Laura) of Lyons and John Newman of Muir. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
