She was predeceased by: her parents, Max L. VanVleck and Lucille VanVleck (Kolarik); and her parents-in-law, Patricia and Howard Winans. She is survived by: her sister June VanVleck; her husband Ken Winans; her stepson Michael Winans; her daughter Megan Winans (Ken); her granddaughter Emma Winans; her stepson Matthew Winans (Mary); her nieces, Jordan and Taylor Haywood; her brother Brian VanVleck (Terri); her nieces, Meagan VanVleck-Peet and Brittani VanVleck-Hale; her nephew Max VanVleck; and her grandchildren, Connor Winans, Carson Winans and Olivia Winans. She is also survived by many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, Meals On Wheels or the Capital Area Humane Society in memory of Joan.
