It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Janet Washington in Lansing, Michigan, born in Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away on November 17, 2024, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father James Aurelious Christian; and her siblings, Reginald Christian, Sr. (Rosa Marie) and Dorothy Mae Jenkins (Timothy). She is survived by: her mother Cleola Clark Christian; her husband Michael; her children, Courtney (Rosaria Matina) and Alexandria Williams (Theron); her stepchildren, Tyreece Washington, Nicole Washinton and Craig Washington; her grandchildren, Theron Izaiah Williams, Judah Washington, Noah Washington and Brooklyn Washington; her siblings, Janice Christian, Alfred Christian (Stella), James Christian (Carrie), Aurelious Christian, Freddie Jean Perdue, Virginia Carolyn Turner, DeAquanita Christian and Jamie Christian-Parker (Wilbert); her siblings-in-law, James Washington (Robbie), Calvin Washington (Gina) and Tracy Miller; her uncle William Christian (Willie); her aunts, Vera and Leola; and her close friends, Ken, Shariah Lewis, Jeff Anglin and Andrew Blue. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Calendar Paradise Funeral Chapel (1107 E Miller Rd, Lansing, MI 48911). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the Calendar Union Missionary Baptist Church (500 S Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Lansing, MI 48915). A burial will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM. During the COVID Pandemic, at her husband's encouragement, Janet began leading a monthly, ZOOM Family Fellowship with her siblings, as well as the extended family of her children, nieces, nephews, and cousins, which is currently still going strong.
