He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Giffen and Leona Giffen (Spellman); and his great grandchild Brigid Valentine Coolidge. He is survived by: his wife Davida A. (Keller); his sons, James W. Giffen Jr. (Sharon), Jeffrey Giffen (Kathy) and Jason Giffen (Trish); his stepson Carl Hans (Seul); and his siblings, Ramona LaPoint (Danny) and Don Giffen. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
